It's Back!

Hello all!

I'm excited to announce that The Invaders will be returning on October 31st –– Halloween!

Check out the pre-order page on Amazon here. You can pre-order it if you'd like, that'd be pretty awesome. However, it'll be free in a month or two. But you all have probably already read it! If you want to read it again though––professionally edited this time!––I wouldn't fault you. :)

Up next: The Enemy. Hopefully I'll be able to have that professionally edited by the end of the month for a November release. Then what you're all looking forward to, The Arrival!

Then: The Changelings.

New Covers!

Hey everybody, Jay here.

Just dropping in to let you know that I've finally been able to get the cash together to have The Invaders proofread! It goes off to my editor on the 7th, and it should be finished by the end of the week. After that, I'm going to get some promos set up, before releasing it later this month! I'm eying the 21st as my hopeful launch–or re-launch–date. Then hopefully it won't be long until I can get The Enemy proofread so I can get that back out there, and then, what you've all been waiting for, The Arrival! I'm so excited for you all to read it, and it's been really painful having to not publish it. I just want it to be the best it can, and in order for that to happen, it just has to be looked at by a professional editor.

However, I do have a bit of Arrival news to share. I made a new cover for it, and The Enemy! Check them out:

What do you think?! I love them. I've changed the cover for The Enemy a couple times before, but this one I totally LOVE. It makes me so excited to get it back out there! Plus the one for The Arrival is super cool as well, and WAY better than the old one. Not that the old one was terrible, but I finally was able to do what I wanted to do with that one, with this one. I also made a cover for book four, but I'm not sharing that one quite yet!

Anyways, that's all I have for you all right now. It feels so good to be back at this after an awful summer spent in a hospital. I just love telling stories, and I can't wait for you all to be able to read and enjoy them once again!

I'm Not Dead (barely)!

THE FOLLOWING IS YESTERDAY'S NEWSLETTER FROM THE JAY FORD NEWSLETTER:

Hello all!

It's been a long time, eh? You probably thought I was dead! I thought I might be too. Here's a quick run down on what I've been up to:
  • Spent quite a bit of time in the hospital
  • Got very behind in college due to time in hospital
  • Spent a long time getting caught up
And that's about it! Told you it was a quick run down.

So! You probably don't really care about that, and I don't care to get into it too much. You probably just wanna know where the damn book is, don't you?

Well, I haven't done much writing lately because I've been too busy not dying, and then not dying academically. So the book had about 5-10,000 words left in the first draft, and in the past couple days I've gotten extremely close to the end. So it should be out by the end of October HOPEFULLY.

Why hopefully?

Well in case you haven't noticed, The Invaders and The Enemy are currently not available to buy anywhere online. To be honest, when I first uploaded them, I never expected them to get so popular! So, while it had been proofread before (can you believe it?! I got my money back, that's for sure), there were still a lot of errors. So many that the reviews suffered heavily.

However, with hospital bills and college, I'm unable to afford to get them proofread. Now, I'm not about to go into some speech about some Kickstarter or IndieGoGo I'm running to raise funds for the editing. I'm going to pay for that myself! It's just expensive to have three books proofread, so it may be a while before I can afford it.

So, that's where I'm at right now. I will not be publishing any more books until I can afford to have them proofread. Sorry, but you deserve better than what I gave you, and it won't happen again! I hope for your patience and your understanding.

And for it, once The Arrival is published, I will be offering it for free to all of my newsletter subscribers.

And since you've read this far, here's Prison State for free. While there's still some errors, it's much cleaner than The Invaders or The Enemy. Just click HERE

Thanks for reading! Until next time,
Jay Ford

Prison State

Hello all!

Thanks for taking the time to read this! Today I have something really cool to share with you all: the release of my new book! Now, this book isn't The Arrival (more on that later), but it is still pretty cool. It's called Prison State, the first in a new series. Now, you may be asking yourself, "Hey! What the heck?! Why are you writing this instead of The Arrival! I don't wanna read this!" and to that I'd say "Stop yelling! I wrote Prison State earlier this year before I published The Invaders! So it was already written and edited, I just had to make the cover for it!"

So that's the story. Do you wanna know what the story literally is? Well then, here's the blurb!:

On the planet Utoki, crime is virtually non-existent. That’s because if someone commits a crime, no matter how small, them and their immediate family are sent to The Prison.

The Prison is where all criminals are sent to spend the rest of their lives. There are no rules, and no way to escape. The only way to shorten your sentence is to die. Disease, radiation, and starvation are only some of the things that will kill you. The War of the Innocent, however, is the main threat.

When Max is sent to The Prison, he just wants to survive. But when he is attacked by a girl who thinks he's "The One", he's forced to question everything about his life, and choose whether or not to run from destiny.

Raven is a survivor. Having been in The Prison for as long as she remembers, she’s one of the few people who have come to call The Prison “home”. Daughter of the leader of the Innocent, she’s a powerful figure in The Prison. But when she discovers that the stories she was told as a child of the lost city of Destiny—and the monsters inside—are true, she sets out on a journey to find a way to protect her people.

So that's Prison State! Wanna buy it? At a discount too? Then click the following to get it for only .99 cents!:

Now, a quick update on The Arrival. That's a bit of an ironic name because Finals are arriving at my school. They begin tomorrow, to be exact. So while The Arrival is a little over half way done, I'll be unable to write much of it thanks to school. Rest assured, however, The Arrival will be out in mid-late-May! It's going to be on hell of a ride, and you all are going to love it. At least that's my hope!

That's all I've got for you this time. Talk to you soon!

The Arrival

Hello everybody!

Today I'm going to be revealing the cover for book three in The Visitors Saga, The Arrival! Now, if you are subscribed to my mailing list (which you can sign up for if your not already by entering your email address over there --->), or like me on Facebook, you've already seen it. I'm going to be releasing it now for everyone to see!

Here it is:
Click to see it in a new window!
Awesome, huh? What do you think about it? Comment below to let me know!

Now that you've seen the cover, you're probably asking yourself when it's coming out (and if you're not, go ahead and do that so I don't look foolish). Well, as you can see in the side bar, I'm currently about 10,000 words into it. I've actually written a lot more than that, but a lot of it keeps getting cut out. However, if all goes well, it should be out by the end of the month.

I say that as if I don't have finals week after next.

Fingers crossed though! I hope you all are enjoying The Invaders and The Enemy. Leave a review for it if you can!

Thanks,
Jay

Update

Hello all!

Wow, The Invaders has gotten a lot more attention than I had anticipated! I really hope you all have enjoyed it, whether you've read all of it or just a little bit. I'd really love to hear what you think about it, so email me (authorjayford@gmail.com), comment on this post, or leave a review on Amazon (or wherever you downloaded it at)! Reviews on Amazon are really important, and since the book just came out, I don't have any yet. If you leave a review, I'll send you a copy of The Enemy for FREE! If you've already purchased The Enemy, I'll send you a free copy of the next book.

Speaking of which, writing on book three is going very well! I'm excited about where the story is going. I'm around 10,000 words into it, so that means I've got about 25,000 more words to write. It may be more though, we'll see. I think you all are really going to enjoy it though! I'm going to do a cover/title reveal soon, so keep on the look out for that.

Well, I better get back to writing. Unfortunately it's a research paper for school, and not book three. I'm going to be working really hard on book three this week though, because on Friday I'm leaving to spend the weekend in New York! I'm pretty excited. Anyways, that's all I've got for you today. Don't forget, leave a review if you can!

Thanks!
Jay

It's Here!

I'm really excited!

My debut novel, The Invaders, is now available! This book was a lot of fun to write, and the sequel even more so. Looking forward to getting that finished at published!

I'm getting ahead of myself, though. Right now I wanna tell you about The Invaders. You can download on on a couple of different websites:

Amazon
Kobo (free)
Smashwords (free)

The reason it's not free on Amazon is because Amazon has a really difficult round about way of making books free. You've gotta contact them, send them links to where it's free, and wait. It'll be a few days before it's free on there. Until then, you can download the Kindle version on Smashwords if you want to! However, I'd really appreciate it if you left a review for the book on Amazon. It'll help get the word out there about my book, and help others make the decision to buy!

I hope you all enjoy it. I can't wait to hear what you think of it!

Gotta run now. Time to get back to work on the sequel! For now, I will leave you with the cover in all of its wondrous glory:
